Helping small business access big supply chains.
The Government has restated its objective to channel 33% of public procurement towards SMEs. Likewise, many large enterprises are also waking up to the benefits of including SMEs in their supply chains.
However, turning good intentions into real change still represents a challenge to all parties.
Get Ready to Supply
The Get Ready to Supply programme, delivered by Newable and enabled by the JP Morgan Chase Foundation, aims to support small and medium sized businesses based in London. It is a comprehensive programme building the internal capabilities of smaller business so that they can meet the procurement criteria of larger corporates.
Providing comprehensive support
The Get Ready to Supply programme ranges from providing mentoring to facilitating access to contract opportunities. Each company has a number of 1-1 sessions with a Newable business adviser and receives advice on finance, technical policies, marketing and pitching techniques.
Creating Opportunities
Roseville is a specialist sub contract Painting and Decorating Company. Roseville initially joined our supply chain support programme at one of our Meet the Buyer events, where they were matched with construction buyers. These events are essentially face-to-face pitching meetings around live opportunities. Newable facilitates these meetings, bringing businesses together to directly pitch for contracts.
Roseville, were matched with Skanska, the 5th largest construction company in the world. They were also able to start conversations with other buyers and begin discussing future opportunities and contracts.
Arthur Nelmes, Divisional Director, Roseville said, “The support we’ve received from Newable has had positive impact on the potential to grow our business.”
Local economic impact
Winning contracts not only supports companies like Roseville in building their profile and growing as a company but it also creates employment and sustainable jobs for local people. This has the wider impact of introducing additional wealth into local economies, thereby helping to strengthen social cohesion.
