Raise your glass!
Newable Private Investing raised their glass for charity last week, raising £4,000+ for the charity Shelter from the Storm at an exclusive wine tasting and live auction event.
The event
A slight change of pace from the normal Newable Private Investing presentations, attendees were able to experience a selection of Australian wines with the founder of Honest Grapes, Nathan Hill. A Newable Private Investing member, Angel Investor & wine enthusiast, Nathan recently spent 4 months in Australia and New Zealand visiting 100 of the top wineries, and shared some of the most surprising and wonderful wines emerging from these regions on the night. This wine tasting was designed to help our angel investors network socialise over drinks and learn about incredible wines, but there was another reason this event was organised.
The cause
Winter is now upon us, and the weather is reflecting that with cold days and even colder nights. Shelter from the Storm was founded in Islington in 2007 by Sheila Scott and Louie Salvoni to provide shelter and support for the homeless and dispossessed. As London’s only free homeless shelter, open all year round and funded by donations alone, this incredible organisation offers emergency shelter for 42 homeless people every night of the year.

What we raised
We aimed to raise over £3500 for Shelter from the Storm. However, we managed to raise more on the night, thanks to the attendees generous donations. If you would like to donate and support the cause, please visit our Just Giving page:

We would also like to extend our thanks to our hosts Aviva Digital Garage and Lark Insurance Broking Group who kindly supported the event.
